Re: Formal Lounge/Dining 23Sep 28, 2008 6:49 pm we are having a non formal Lounge room. It will be our main tv room at this stage. Note I said tv room rather than HT. I'd love a HT but we wouldn't have the $ to do that for a while. We will have a tv in there, a tv in our main bedroom and when we replace our current lounge tv ( it's 22 yrs old) a tv in the kids activity area. Kids gaming PS2 will go with their tv. ( our old 22 yr yr old one if it survives our next move and we can afford to replace it it something nice) We will also have a games room but for the next few years that will be our computing room. eventually it might have a tv in it.
We expect to spend most of our time in the family room area or the computing area like we did in our last house. Visitors will sit in the family room or lean on the jarrah cap if I am in the kitchen or sit at the dining table next to the kitchen. We don't have a formal dining room. Never saw a need for one as it doesn't fit out lifestyle. So our "family room" will be our visitors room and main living area. Lounge will get used to watch tv or movies as a family or for the kids to do the same. I can see eventually it might get a minor HT type upgrade. We've been in this rental for nearly 10 months now and I would say I've used the lounge room maybe 10 times but the kids use it all the time to watch dvd's and videos and tv. We have a large collection of videos still and the lounge is the only place we now have a video recorder . Once we have a better set up in the new lounge it might get more use. DH and I have different equipment connected to our bedroom tv so tend to sneak off there to watch things. Itsalso the only place we've been able to go if we want to watch something not child suitable. IE Criminal minds/ wire in the blood etc. Re: Formal Lounge/Dining 24Sep 28, 2008 8:52 pm gweluphome haywgl We are closing ours off and making it into DH's sportsroom.
