Unfortunately the MBA & HIA contract that you signed favours the builder OT, always check for mistakes before you hand over a deposit. hth Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: After signing final construction drawing my building sai 5Jan 25, 2020 1:24 pm StructuralBIMGuy Satwinder Should builder honor what we signed Yep, But in reality it doesn't happen that way Irrespective of who makes the mistake, clients are asked to pay through variations. You wouldn't be asked to pay more for less risers. I would have thought that you have a fixed price contrac. It's not a provisional sum so there is no ability to claim a variation. Usually this will come about due to a raising of the ceiling heights then requiring and additional riser to stay within spec. Maybe they have missed this when pricing, but ultimately they have signed and they have to wear it. It isn't your job to know how many risers are required for given ceiling heights, that's their job as builders.I guarantee they wouldn't give you money back if it was the other way around. They'd just keep quiet and pocket the extra. Ultimately it's like the builder saying we didn't calculate the roof size correctly so we are going to have to charge you a bit more. The HIA is a builder's association. Why else do you think their contract is biased towards builders? 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage.
