Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 20, 2020 7:45 pm Hi, I need to move my bbq/outdoor kitchen 25cm to the left to make room for a pergola post. I have a natural gas bbq out there and copper piping going to the back of the outdoor kitchen for it and a bayonet fitting on the end. Some of the pipe is exposed as it runs along the side of an elevated alfresco area. As it only needs to be moved 25cm to the left, can I cut the pipe myself and just use couplers to rejoin it and saddle it back to wall? Thanks Re: Natural Gas Bbq line shortening 2Jan 21, 2020 9:53 am You need a licenced gas fitter. To do it yourself is illegal and will completely void your insurance. "In NSW, you must be licensed to complete any gasfitting work as defined in the Home Building Act 1989. Gasfitting work means any work involved in:
Gas installation means a system of pipes and associated fittings that are designed to convey gas from the control valve or other connection point of a gas container to the control valve or other connection point of a gas appliance or of another gas container, and includes any flue associated with the installation, but does not include a gas container. Gas appliance means any gas burning or gas using appliance that is manufactured, adapted or designed for connection to a gas installation, whether by means of a gas outlet socket or otherwise, and includes any liquefied petroleum gas dispenser, catalytic burner or vaporiser, but does not include an internal combustion engine that is installed in, or forms part of, a vehicle, vessel or machine." 4 10773 Hi, planning on using the attached stone pieces in my bathroom.
