Looking for advice on: insurance, water leak, renovation, maintenance.
I have an in-wall water leak in the en-suite drywall near the shower area.
I called a plumbing company and they sent someone to ran some tests:
- full tile spray test
- drain test
- pressure test
The plumber says he suspect the screen is leaking and needs to be re-grouted and sealed. The water leak has already caused some significant damage in the drywall. Please see pictures.
I am a bit confused what is the next step going forward.
The house is only 7 years old. Built by a small private builder. I am the second owner of this property.
Do I repair this out of pocket?
Do I contact my insurance or the builder?
The only visible damage is at the base of the drywall next to shower area as shown in picture.
Who do I contact to check the extent of the damage inside the drywall?
