Hi,
We've bought a 70s brick beach house that needs a fair bit of renovating, just wondering if anyone can recommend design software (free or paid) that I can input my plans/make changes just to get all my ideas in one place before we get a draftsperson in to draw up the final plans?

They all have strength and weaknesses
Focus on one that allows you to

Takes off quantities, m, m2, m3, SI Units, etc
That allows for file translations (imports/exports) to other consultants software, eg Engineering
That connects to Excel or G sheets
Remember "free has no $ value" , always check out the pro version

Try breaking down your project so everyone knows what they are doing
slab & formwork et al costs

OT and just a thought Unfortunately there isn't a compare 3D design software site similar to this FEM 3D Engineering analysis software site
where prices vary from Free (No Import) To $50K

I noticed this is an old post but in case someone is still looking for a good app. Here is the one my lady masters

It is available as an app for Android and iPhone as well. Easy to use and flexible enough.
If you prefer a computer software then you would need to search for Google Sketchup, which is discontinued or you could take the latest Sketchup (paid).
