It looks like the previous owner painted over it. The original photo is hard to see, so I’ve included a saturated version that seems to show a darker stain beneath the white paint job (I could be wrong but I dont have experience) Is this what the beginnings of water intrusion look like? The ceiling appears flat otherwise but I’m beginning to worry. Are there any other signs to look for? Re: Crack in ceiling - water intrusion? 2Oct 23, 2019 1:32 pm Looks like it could be and l think it could be worse then early stages , it could be failry advanced for it to from a crack , you should get a builder to have a look or you can buy a moisture detector at you hardware store or ebay for $20 , press that on the area and if it reads a high moisture level then most likely water is getting through from a hole in the roof. Yes maybe the previous owner painted over it to disguse it, but you should have had a building inspector to inspect the house before you bought it and he should have discovered water damage or roof damage Most likely poor foam installation and render installation, Joint covered with render, foam could be sitting on flashing. Do you have any render at house 4 9314 Unless the room is for storage then it's non compliant BCA V2 2019 S3 P3.8 You have 2 options 1.
