And if it is, how do you go about doing that? Do I rock up & say something to the foreman ? What would I say? My DH is o/seas at the moment & I wouldn't have a clue.

I dunno about customary, but just walk up and tell them you are very happy with the work (if you are) and you just wanted to make sure they didn't go away thirsty:)

Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely.

The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists.
