A. Media Services are such things as ... Broadband internet, Subscriber TV and so on..
Q. What do we know currently regarding Internet connections options for Marriott waters?
A. I had a chat to Telstra today, as far as they are concern they are NO longer laying any cabling for broadband services.
So your options as for as Telstra is concerned (today)
1. ADSL -> Internet access service that uses your phone line as the "medium".
Note: The exchange used by Marriott waters is ADSL2 + enabled (Great news!!) details can be found at the following link.

2. Wireless
In Short, access to the internet is achieved through the NextG network.
This will not be a cost effective option for most people.
Q. What is all this talk about "Fibre to the Node" for Marriott Waters?
A. Telstra by the looks of it Outsource services to Developers...This initiative is called Telstra Smart Communities, currently Marriott Waters is NOT listed on the following Website.
Q. Do I have to go with Telstra?
A. NO, Once you have your Phone line connected, you can get ADSL with any number of ISP's. see exchange link above for details...
P.S. exetel is good value. http:\\www.exetel.com.au/
Q. Do I need "Telstra Wireless" to get wireless at home?
A. No, you can still get ADSL and use a Wireless router at home to give you the freedom to access the internet from most rooms in your house.
note: within range of wireless router.
Please feel free to add any information you find out, and if you have questions please post......
best regards
Bernie.
