There is no simple example to say its beneficial or not, it really depends on your situation. I would recommend speaking to your accountant. Trusts can be beneficial for asset protection & tax minimization on developments but in most other cases will expose you to more taxes. Property's held in trusts will lose main residence exceptions for CGT & Land tax, on property sale GST may also apply.
