On settlement day we took lots of photos of these faults, and were told to wait until their warranty inspection to present them. However the inspector dismissed many of our faults, and questioned if they were even present at settlement (They were. We took time-stamped photos). I've since emailed the warranty department asking them to fix the other issues, but this was 3 weeks ago and no reply so far. Just wondering if there's anything else I can do? I know a home can't be perfect when you move in, and we overlooked lots of dents and marks, but by the same token it IS meant to be brand new, so surely alot of the obvious faults should be repaired? Side note, this is our first build, and I'm disappointed (but not overly surprised I guess), that while they have been great to deal with while building, after the build their customer service has been poor... Our Inspector actually picked up things we hadn't seen … Re: Build quality not great - can I do anything? 5Jun 22, 2019 8:29 pm gillybean Unfortunately once you hand over final payment you basically hand over any bargaining power as you’ve accepted the finished product as acceptable. Could u give some examples issues they refused to fix? I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe. I called VBA today and they said it was a Consumer Affairs issue, the old handball. Seems like the government organisations don't want to do their job at the moment. 2 7556 |
