Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 15, 2019 11:25 pm Does anyone know how high concrete footings need to be above ground for aluminum patio/pergola posts? Initially the company we had build our patio left the footings approximately 200mm below ground. Council final inspection didn't pass as they are saying they want it no less than 100mm above ground. Yet the council have written in the report steel posts. Ours are aluminum. A magnet wont stick to aluminum which we have tried. Can anyone please shed some light as to which is correct. 100mm above ground will make our pavers very high above ground level. Plus then we would need to remove gutter down pipes and reconfigure those plus drains. What was supposed to be a simple install is turning into a nightmare. Thank you in advance. Did you get Council approval for the installation?
