Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 27, 2013 8:24 pm Hi H1 Looking to create that old world english pub effect with exposed beams. Its an 8mx8m L-shaped room with 5.5-6m spans with a web framed subfloor to the attic above so using real timber is going to be horrendously expensive, if it can even be engineered without intermediary support posts. So I thought about using faux timber beams like this..... http://www.azfauxbeams.com/ but cannot find an Australian supplier of any similar type product. Importing from the U.S is not really an option due to the length of the 'timbers' and the few Chinese suppliers I could find online want minimum orders far in excess of what I want. Does anyone out there ideas? Thanks RiH Re: Faux timber beams? 2Jun 02, 2013 10:18 pm Unless the weight of real timber is a problem, one option would be to hunt through a demolition or scrap timber yard- especially if you don't mind the "rustic" look...? Re: Faux timber beams? 3Sep 30, 2014 9:16 pm I am interesting in these too. I' love to know if these are available in Australia anywhere. I’ve kept all 30+ pieces safe (except one) and wanting to sell them if anyone’s interested. Would add a photo here of what they look like but not sure how to. My email is Ruby.hy.huang@hotmail.com if anyone’s interested in seeing them.
