Sounds like you getting the benefits from using it more like a whole of house fan rather than as an evaporative system. Is it a problem if you switched off the water supply. We have only used the units at quarter power so I wouldnt say they are being used as a giant fan. I must say that I really believe these things have made a big difference in lowering the temp.
