2. Write a letter to the Managing Director......These 2 things mean his employer is aware how invaluable he is to the company. 3.A carton or bottle of his favourite alcohol. We did all these things and our letter plus plenty more customer letters helped our SS to a job promotion. Our SS pointed out things that we didn't notice and got them fixed. There was 1 dimple of bad colour on our sectional door that we didin't notice.... he got the whole door changed and he told us it was happening after we had inspected it and told him everything was good. Our current SS had to take over his mess, and we have been very happy with his attitude, availability, help, and work. In the end, if we continue to be happy (ehich we're certainly hoping we are! I'd be happy to sing his praises! They could possibly see him as a pain in the arse if they found out he was picking out faults you didn't pick up on, but if they saw the results of him picking out those faults they will look at him differently. I am absolutely against gifts or payola of any kind. It's a path that leads to bribery & corruption. Soon you have to start giving gifts just to get an average job. Seriously. It's a curse and if you've had to operate in countries where this operates you will bend down and kiss the ground of Australia that people here will still do a good job --- because it's their job !
