Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Show us your Walk in Robe... 2Mar 05, 2019 12:29 pm If you want to reconfigure it get them to leave the standard fit out altogether. It's usually just a shelf and a single rail that is too low to double rail underneath anyway. I have one side double railed for tops, jackets etc and handbags (I hang my larger handbags from s hooks on a rail), one end single rail for pants and dresses, and one side floor-ceiling shelving for shoes and clutch bags. No drawers as I have a separate dresser in the bedroom for drawer space. I would start by assessing your needs - how many linear metres of hanging do you need, and at what height, what goes on shelves, and how much drawer space do you need. Everyone's needs are different. Re: Show us your Walk in Robe... 3Mar 07, 2019 10:33 pm Thanks for that. gives me something to think about. We got our single rail raised to 2mtrs high from the standard so we can move in with something at least then work on a fit out. Re: Show us your Walk in Robe... 4Mar 08, 2019 1:11 am I removed the fitout that the builder quoted (Just a hanging rail and a bank of shelves) and I was refunded about 30% of what it cost me to go to a designer and get it added to my building quote (which included builders 20% mark up) Go onto the Ikea website and use their design tool for a robe, its quite fun and It gives you an idea of what you can get made.
