building contract

Hi Guy's,
I am in a very weird situation with my builder. I am building with a small local builder and just finished the frame stage(not passed by the building surveyor) and paid the frame stage invoice already. Just came to know that the builder has stopped work on his 5 other sites for the last 4-5months and is not reachable to the owners.I think I will be the next target. Also he has not paid his sub-contractor and supplier from a long time.I assume he is planning to get bankrupt.
what are my best options? How can I get out of the contract? Can I get any help from insurance?
Has anyone been in this similar situation?
There is some advice here: http://anewhouse.com.au/2012/10/if-the- ... goes-bust/

Hi mate. You should've done due diligence before commencing a project with that builder. For you to get out of the contract, you should provide some grounds. For example: poor builder workmanship, or both of you decided to just terminate the contract; you're frustrated with his work; or contract breach.

I think this article might help you. https://www.contractsspecialist.com.au/info-contract-termination/

I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will…
