Colorbond Corrosion
My builder used genuine Bluescope Colorbond corrugated sheeting for the exterior wall cladding of my house.
The colour is "Surfmist" (a very pale bone colour).
The house is now four years old and I am 2.5km away from the sea. (Not significantly close).
Upon cleaning the dust off it I noticed that there are tiny corrosion marks all over the wall sheeting. (All sides of house).
Rust hasn't appeared (yet), but the top (coloured layer) has been removed back to bare metal.
The corrosion spots are up to 1mm diameter.
I contacted Bluescope, (because they have a "12 year warranty for colorbond, when used for wall cladding".
They denied any responsibility, saying that "the corrosion must have occurred at or after installation, voiding the warranty.
Any ideas what might have caused this?
It is going to be an expensive operation to completely re-clad my entire house!!!
Any ideas on how to seek compensation for my loss? Do I need to sue Bluescope, my builder, ???
Useful suggestions please...
