Philip island they said they do a lot of work up there but they only done 2 houses up there they can’t get the trades to work up there That's no good if it's taking so long. Does the contract says the maximum build time and in excess they will compensate for the costs? Its been a decade since my first home was built so I can't recall and we haven't been into the contract yet for our next build so I'm unsure what has changed these days. Hope someone can share their thoughts on this. Re: Burbank review and time to build - vic 6Mar 19, 2019 2:45 pm We are planning on building with Burbank too. Found our preferred home design with them. We are in South East part of Melbourne. Still at the Admin stage. Re: Burbank review and time to build - vic 9Mar 19, 2019 5:36 pm Klogwog Just be careful they do everything as in contract so make sure you allowed for everything as it will cost a minimum $1000 if you want to change or at something else Thanks. I have actually requested for a minor change in the plan but was not allowed. I was told that any structural changes are no longer allowed in production. Dealing with Sales Team was great and they have accepted as many changes as I required until I went to the admin stage. It would be nice if they can allow those changes prior to selections, but anyway too late now. Re: Burbank review and time to build - vic 10Mar 19, 2019 5:40 pm Klogwog But then my daughter is building in a new estate and every body is complaining about their builder Metricon and Simonds are the major builders on Philip island Our first home was built by Simonds and we never had any issues with them. The quality and customer service were superb. We were actually considering them for our next build but we found with Burbank the house design that we love and meets our budget as well. How is the work quality of Burbank with your daughter's home so far?
