Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Provincial Homes build 2Oct 11, 2022 2:05 pm I will share my experience about provincial homes- the proven professionals and you can decide for your self. Its just 1st part of my experience.. however I will be sharing my experience on product review over the weekend. 15th March 2021- Contract Signed for Birchgrove 35 26th April 2021 - DA lodged –– By Adam Hitchcock, son of one of the directors named Darryl Hitchcock. 30th April 2021- Council tells Adam Hitchcock that he has lodged without proper documentation. He was not aware that landscape plan is also required during DA lodgment. 10th may – I provided landscape plan to Adam Hitchcock so that he could proceed with DA lodgment 14th may Adam Hitchcock lodges DA with council. 18th June 2021- Council asked for Bushfire assessment- provincial homes again missed that the land is in a bushfire zone and hence Bal assessment may also be required along, and this also meant that my contract will go up by another approx. 10 to 15K. 29th June 2021- DA approved after providing bush fire assessment. 13th July 2021- Final Contract signed 9th Aug: Provincial homes ask me to submit application for “permit for Road reserve work”. I submit application and Liverpool council calls me to say that” seems my builder provincial homes has no experience in construction” because for my home construction, I don’t need permit for Road reserve work. Upon questioning provincial homes, they instead of accepting that they were not able to interpret the DA approval and conditions correctly, they tried to justify. 16th August 2021- Finally Construction certificate was approved. 17th Sept 2021- Provincial homes confirms that there will be an additional cost of approx. 20K for cantilevers as my plot has a sewer line on one end of the plot. Upon questioning, the director of provincial homes Darryl Hitchcock states that his system was to be blamed because his system missed the sewer line on the plans, even though he was aware of the same at the contract signing stage. After speaking to Darryl Hitchcock (Director), I spoke to another director at provincial homes, Ian Patton. After talking to them and after more than 100s of e-mails, I realized that this is just another construction company with the same principles as other builders in the market- squeeze customers until they start bleeding- Same is my case until now (11th Oct 2022), even after 1 years and 7 Months of signing the contract, my house is still in the 3rd phase- the frame stage. So, up until 17 sept 2021, , the budget from 455000$ had already gone up by 35K. Therefore, I had to get the construction stopped for 5 weeks so that I could get further funding from the bank. 27th Sept 2021, provincial homes sent an email stating that they will add additional charges levied if work is stopped to secure additional funding- later they did retreat. 19th Nov 2021- Finally, my bank approved the additional funding after casting immense doubt on the builders. Now fast forward to Feb 2022 10 Feb 2022, Provincial homes notifies me that Slab has been poured and 1st progress payment is due. That’s all for now— I will post date by date conversations from feb 2022 up until now and how my construction is going on – It is still at frame stage with no idea of when they will finally manage to complete the construction. I will also provide details of the frame quality and other inspections that were done by external agencies. The Dulux colour consultants are awesome. If you show them the photos they should be able to figure it out for you straight away 1 1661 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 18323 3 49927 |
