Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 14, 2008 2:40 pm I am sure this has been discussed many times, a search came up with over 1000 possible posts I have had only one experience with a front loader, it leaked a massive amount of water every time and the knobs on the front had little pictures instead of words, too hard to understand. SO, I would like a recommendation of a couple of brands please and if it is okay to put the dryer directly on the top of them. Re: Front Loading Washing Machines 2Sep 14, 2008 3:07 pm Hi SuH,
We previously had an Ariston front load washer, which was ok as far as front load washers go. We certainly had our dryer sitting directly on top of it and never had any issues there. We have since reverted back to a top-loader though as I do many loads of washing per day and can't afford the time it takes for a front loader to complete a cycle. Generally speaking though, front loaders are gentler on your clothes and do save on water. Sorry, I can't help you with current brands though. Just a TIP: Apparantly, If you place an old tea-towel around the inside of the rubber on the inside of the machine it will help prevent the rubber from collecting all that nasty slimy mould! Then you only need exchange the tea-towel & throw it in with the rest of the washing every couple of cycles. I have just had the washing machines first service after having it for 4 years and it cost me $140 including a part and its like new again. Not that there was anything wrong with it in particular, just because. They sit on top of each other no probs. Re: Front Loading Washing Machines 4Sep 14, 2008 4:08 pm This thread has a lot of info
