I need to write a letter to our Builder to present at handover.
We have a major defect at our property that is going to dispute but have no option but to move into the property. (The defect at this stage doesn’t effect us living there.)
I have spoken to Consumer Affairs and have been advised to prepare a letter, stating that by undertaking handover we in no way accept the defects still presenting at the property and that the builder accepts liability for any damage and issues that may arise from this defect.
Has anyone else had to do this?
Can anyone help with what wording etc they may have used.
I have tried to find some sort of information or template online but haven’t had any luck.
I do have a lawyer to look over the letter but would like to have it as correct as possible as we are very pushed for time.
