Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 06, 2018 10:22 pm Hi, I'm after a little advice. Due to a connected insurance claim, we are replacing a large area of flooring. Hallway, living, kitchen. We would like to lay engineered timber for flooring. We would have engaged a licenced builder, but they have only completed a visual inspection for the insurance claim. Removing a duct from the hallway, I can see the layers of flooring. Top layer is laminate, then black underlay, then tile, then concrete (?), then ???, then the particle board subfloor. The builder said that they could only remove the tiles if they sat on fibre cement sheeting. I am unable to tell if there is fibre cement sheeting between the particle board subfloor and the tiles. Can anyone with experience help me out from the following photo? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ XCEM Alpha flooring seems to relatively new and I could not found any reviews. Have you or someone you know have used it and would recommend over other subfloor options?… 2 7556 Jimbo73 I would use heaps of adhesive on each sheet and screw rather than nail. use as many as you like cheers Simeon 1 4043 Would also like an opinion from anyone that has used xcem over hebel for floors.
