Question for those with expereince/ knowledge in this area
I had settlement nearly 7 months ago and the house next door started about 2 months after this and recently completed (4-6 weeks ago) I have not yet done any landscaping etc in the front yard and was out there today and noticed that my storm water
pipe running 2 feet from the property boundary has been damaged. this quite probably occurred during their siteworks as there was a temporary fencing over this area for the duration of their build and i remember a really big patch of weeds growing in this spot.
I also remember someone asking me as i was leaving for work one morning back in the early days if he could come onto my land iwhile he was doing siteworks I asnwered yes and advised him their is a stormwater pipe 2 feet from the boundary - he advised no problem as he only needs an extra foot to work in. i looked that night but couldn't see any issues and my stormwater was still flowing - still flows now but losing some of it to the front yard.
Pipe runs from the front of my house at the edge of my concrete down to the sidewalk. damaged section is about a meter from the sidewalk.
Am i Correct in assuming the neighbors builder is liable for the repairs and verifying the rest of the pipe in that 3 meter run is undamaged?
Will be calling them on Monday and want to make sure im informed first

The normal course of events is for the builder to give you all the excuses as to why they are not liable but you might be lucky if you make an approach but from what I see in the photo, I would be concerned about the stormwater pipe's depth of cover...or apparent lack of. If it is not buried to compliance, then this is the probable cause of the damage and the non compliance (if applicable) a matter between you and your builder.
3 in 1 Supadiverta. 0.75mm filter. No downpipes diverted. Can delete overflow pipe. Cleaner Neater Cheaper

thanks for that and i know it will probably be a hassle to chase the other builder. have heard back from the guy who did my pipes and he will call past and fix it himself this week. Allows me to get on with site prep of my front yard quicker as well

Thanks. I hope it turns out for you. It seems like a reasonable price for that size land. We built in Truganina. Lots of estates going up. viewtopic.php?t=86597
