Re: Solar 7Sep 12, 2018 12:45 pm Whirlpool's Green Tech forum is a good place to ask this question. Lots of very knowledgeable people there who are happy to help. https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum/143 So get 3 quotes from the solarquotes site that has been recommended, then go to Whirlpool to ask for advice. You'll have to have a pretty good idea of your usage to determine your system size. But generally a 5kW inverter (with 6.6kW of panels) is a good size, & the maximum allowable for single phase houses in most states. Getting a good quality inverter is important. If you have a well orientated unshaded roof, then a string inverter is usually the best option. Fronius is regarded as the best string inverter, & can be set up so that any excess power generation is used to heat your water (for electric storage tanks). If you have problems with shade, or a fiddly roof with many orientations, then microinverters are best, although more expensive than a string inverter. Best of luck Re: Solar 8Sep 12, 2018 6:02 pm ![]() ![]() where are you located? Box hill South Vic I have sent you some info.
