Re: Why frames overhang on slab? 6Aug 30, 2018 3:18 pm MyFirst bank The frame needs to be built to the size on the plans or everything will be out from there on. Why adjust everything when it's the slab that is incorrect? No one is going to be impressed when they turn up and their rooms have shrunk because the concretors made a mistake and everyone else just followed their lead. We had many slab errors and they were relatively easily fixed. Totally agree that real craftmanship is rare these days I been looking around my area... Notice that ground floor frames are done then for a week or 3 nothing happened. It feels like they did the ground floor frame first and then order the 1st floor frame and roof to be pre-made at factory. Or maybe just shortage of tradies.. There is not enough room on the block next door to have the entire frame delivered at once. That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 17705 In the end, two pieces of treated timber (20mm thick) were bolted onto the joists and planed when there was too much sticking out.
