Please forgive me as i am not an well versed in these matters, but I want to confirm what my electrician is telling me is accurate (he's pretty young and possibly a little inexperienced - don't know).
Anyway, I have a battleaxe block with a 110-120m driveway (not sure of exact house siting yet). My electrician tells me I need either 50mm single phase 2 or 3 core + earth XLPE cable OR 35mm three phase 2 or 3 core + earth XLPE cable.
Because of voltage drop he said the three phase will run at about 62A per phase, and the larger single phase cable will run at around the same or just a little more. I think he estimated voltage drop of 2-3%.
Is what he telling me accurate? And if so, which option is preferable (and cheaper)?
He wants to run 50mm conduit in trench this week and pull through cable later on.
I will not be running any heavy appliances or any three phase appliances. Just standard stuff like multiple consumer electronics, oven, evap cooling and possibly a spa pool pump. No major power tools like welders etc.
Thanks in advance
