Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 20, 2018 12:53 am I have stainless steel cable balustrade around my deck. The metal balusters that the cable runs through appear to have some kind of tarnish - see the attached photos. They have only been installed in the last 18 months. Any thoughts of what this could be and how to get rid of it? It removes rust stains from sinks and toasters (I did the toaster yesterday and very happy with how it came up). Just put a little on a soft scourer, rub over and clean off. Tarnish on metal balusters on deck 4Jul 22, 2018 9:37 am Try a non scratch scourer if you are scrubbing it off. Autosol metal polishes from Bunnings are brilliant. Put some cream on, it does the heavy work then doesn’t need as much scrubbing, so less scratching of stainless steel. I also find scenneys citrus solvent brilliant. Fine with me... just let 'em step in with some affordable (but good) gear... 12 5475 Surrey Hills, Vic 3127 Garage is being built with metal, 3m distance away from my cover deck.
