Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 29, 2018 4:07 pm Hi. We want to put a gate at the side of our house between the fence and the house. The space is a little less than 1200mm, and the gate is 900mm. We have concreted a 100mm post on the fence side, and we were going to dynabolt another 100mm to the bricks of the house, but they're hollow bricks and the dynabolt is not able to tighten. We can't concrete that post into the ground as our concrete house slab protrudes a couple of inches and we can't get the post flush. We are thinking about using chemset, but on the box of anchor studs it says that the fixture should be maximum 30mm. Does this mean we can't use it for the 100mm post? Also, my husband had already tried to put in a dynabolt and now the sleeve is stuck in the hole in the post. What's the best way to get it out? Any advice will be appreciated. Re: Side gate - dynabolt or chemset? 2Jul 01, 2018 9:41 am 10mm anchor screws will hold better in hollow bricks. Bore a hole half way through the post large enough to fit a socket. buy some 100mmx10mm anchor bolts so 50mm is in the post and 50mm is in the brick. 3 would be enough. one close to the bottom and one close to the top and one in the middle. If you cant tap the old dyna bolt out,cut it off with a grinder.
