Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 14, 2018 1:28 pm Hi All, I am building my first home and need some advice for the fencing, now I understand you can install fences with the agreement with your neighbor on cost and material but what happens if you have neighbor to only one side, I mean in my case I do not have anyone building to my right and to the back atm, there's vacant land that someone owns but the construction has not started, also the house to my left is with some other builders and I think they are getting fence as part of their package. Can anyone suggest if anyone had similar experience and what to do in such situations Would appreciate if you could shed some light as I'm not completely sure how it works. Once you get that from council, you can contact them and seek an agreement on type of fence and sharing of costs. If unable to contact any, you can build the fence and then whenever you get to know the neighbors you are entitled to request for cost share. Thus better to keep individual estimates and invoice.
