Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 05, 2018 7:01 pm I dont even know where to go with this! I brought a house where the block had been subdivided. No build on the block when we purchases. My shed runs flush with the boundary of the subdivided part of my block. Council 5 years later - someone has now purchased the land and is wanting to build (we never owned it) they are building right up to the boundary and have now told us our shed guttering overhangs into their property and we’re required to move it? Council approved the subdivision with the shed as is so we’re unsure as to whether we can be made to move it and if so, how that would even work? Guttering has to be placed in a certain spot to work so not sure how it can be moved without knocking down the shed, can we be made to do that? They’re a developer and know all the tricks, we’re just first home buyers who have no idea if we’re being taken for a ride or not... any advice very much appreciated! Thank you!!! Is it a common garden shed or something more substantial (and valuable)? How much roof area is involved?? Is there a fence? Has the boundary been subject to a proper survey? 3in1 Supadiverta. Please help! 4Jun 06, 2018 5:41 pm what is the allowable building offset for your shed and as mentioned did you get a permit to build your shed if you did, was it built in the correct position the subdivision would be approved based on what the council knows, not what you built so yes you could be told to pull it down if it does not comply Yes, get a builder, make sure he is experienced and a registered building practitioner 5 8934 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
