Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 05, 2018 2:04 pm Hi There, I got told by our SS (Plantation homes) that - they will go through 3 times checks and make report for any fixing required but if I organize 3rd Party Inspector then they only fixed from that Inspector report and ignore their own reports. Please advise what I do I here ? Book 3rd Party Inspector or Stay with Plantation Homes Repoet? They are trying to discourage you which is a red flag to me. I’d ask why they won’t do their quality inspection first, give you a list for your inspector to use and only add additional items. If there inspection is thorough, then yours will not find more from one visit. know little of plantation homes except what I read on the forums. Based on my building experience I’d use my own inspector for peace of mind. I did and worth every cent. Some building companies I hear use private inspection companies or have a more highly trained SS that completes quality inspections. Some like my builder did not do either of these. Not sure what plantation homes do. If you have to, I also don’t see why you can’t have your own inspector walk through with you with their report. You can take anyone along that you want to an inspection. I also had a friend in building industry complete a site visit between stage inspections. He was able to question the SS when he stated ‘facts’ that were not really facts. Re: Should I Hire a 3rd party Building Inspector for Final I 3Jun 05, 2018 9:46 pm I would definitely have a recommended private inspector go to visit with you. Worth every cent but that's my opinion and experience. Sorry I'm not familiar with plantation. That is a disgrace. Ask the SS to put that comment in writing, or email the company with a transcript of the conversation and time/date and ask them to confirm it; "confirming our discussion on..." Re: Should I Hire a 3rd party Building Inspector for Final I 6Feb 25, 2019 2:43 pm without doubt get a third party inspector has they are saying that the third party inspection will pull up way more than they will judging there own work, you will go only get light easy fixs with your builder, otherwise you would be confident that your own work is satisfactory. I would send it to the certifier who is technically your representative and working on your behalf not the builder's 1 2281 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 45567 |
