We are in the midst of deciding how we proceed with our knockdown/rebuild we are planning to do in Melbourne. We had plans drawn up for a 42 sq house, with decent quality spec and the quotes from custom builders are horrendous... (of the 12 builders we tried engaging, only 3 provided detailed quotes) and our floor plan design was rather simple to work with.
So we are looking at the volume builders now to get a KDR in our budget.
We have started engaging with the Metricon Signature pre-sales arm to talk though plans and specs. Their pre-sales team is well polished, professional and so far very impressive.
However we are not wet behind the ears with regards to building, so I am very cautious about how a KDR will play out with Metricon. I understand that people have good and bad experiences with Metricon, as with any builder, and you're more likely to hear the bad ones on the interwebs. But i was wondering if anyone could share their experience with doing a Metricon Signature KDR in Melbourne going through the Signature arm? Metricon are marketing Signature as a premium brand, so I would like to know if you get the premium service from start to finish or if you get the same bog standard service after you sign contracts and lock yourself in.
