Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 11, 2018 12:56 pm our builder is building two deckings out back of two units we have just completed in which it has a dividing rendered wall. He is now in the process of putting two pvc round pipes that come right down next to rendered wall unattached. It looks so unsightly and we are upset about the whole look. Can someone please give some advice..? Re: Unsightly plumbing suggestion? 3May 11, 2018 3:50 pm I don't understand why they have fitted a rainhead with an overflow provision to drain an eaves gutter that is fitted with slots as the overflow provision. They have fitted two downpipes to the one shared rainhead to segregate the downpipe's ownership. BUT.....why oh why didn't they have the gutter's high point (that determines the gutter's slope) above the dividing wall and fit the two downpipes at the gutter's ends? 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Unsightly plumbing suggestion? 5May 11, 2018 8:00 pm Saint Mike Because one outlet cost $5 less ... Speaking of which.... .....they have used two 100x50mm pops to connect to two 100x 50x90mm downpipe adaptors. Why oh why didn't they just use two 90mm pops instead of four fittings? Apart from anything else, the 90mm round pops drain more efficiently, they would not be installing partially dead ended adaptors that can obstruct the passage of debris plus it would be neater at the top. 3in1 Supadiverta. The whole thing is so frustrating🙄😫 Re: Unsightly plumbing suggestion? 9May 11, 2018 8:21 pm Matthew73 Well I didn’t know the pipes would be providing my morning eggs🤔 that’s ok yhen😀 Pity that pigs can't fly, if they could you may have anticipated eggs and bacon. Where did the plans show that the downpipes would be fitted? Are you in NSW? 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage.
