Hmmm still need them to put something between it I think. My guess is something does not add up. In my view builder should have replaced with wider frame. What you have now is functional but could have been done a lot better. Ultimately would you expect better from a builder skilled in his art? The answer is yes.. In my book the owner is entitled to a good job that is functional and aesthetically pleasing and the comfort of knowing it has been well done. The last bit is all too often missing.
