We asked people around what they had - we knew the builder was right on a few things - need for piers. Cost for "checking" might be more than anything you'd save. Questions. Is it the house you want ? Is it fairly priced ? Do you like/trust the builders ? If yes to all - may be go for it. Not sure arguing etc etc will save you much. Might actually harm. PS - they must have done a survey/test - can you see it ? I'd also ask any one around you - see what their soils/costs were - not always a good guide but might be helpful. Re: $ 19800.00 for H2 SLAB UPGRADE ? 11Oct 09, 2018 7:36 pm Hi, I have just been given a rating P for slab at our block... im not entirely happy to say the least... its an acre block aprox 80m x 50 - Flat with a few trees down the back... Rating P seems to cover many different things but mine are from trees and wetness of the Soil or something like that... but the damn trees are 40 meters away from where the house would be... then there's some trees in the avenue across the road.... so on that side of the house its 13 meters to our fence - 5 meters nature strip - road then the avenue... so around 30 meters away from where our house would be... like wtf? ... we've got a flat firm site and then find out we are classed P... its like everyone you "employ" to help you out end up stitching you up... so anyways ... they want a H2 slab as follows.. RECOMMENDATIONS:
now can anyone tell me how much a standard slab would cost and also one with the recommendations above... talking with soil tester... he recommends I mention the H2 to the concreters and the advice above... it seems as soon as you mention rating P - they automatically add $10,000 ... kachingggg... im now wondering if I go a wooden floor instead... and how much that would cost? A wooden floor will heavily affect your basix. Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16104 4 6193 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5150 |
