I’m wondering if this is enough. I’m thinking about adding the veritcle wooden spikes to the gables. Or possibly the circular vents to the gable. But also being aware that we don’t want to go overboard with it. I’ve attached a pic from our drawing. Wondering peoples thoughts. Hamptons coastal front elevation 3Apr 23, 2018 1:47 pm I think the round vents are a good nod to hamptons. I assume you don’t want to change your windows to sash windows . How about one of those garage doors with a row of small windows at the top? Also of course the colours you paint the facade with, and contrasting trim. Personally finials don’t say “hamptons” to me - more colonial and the like! Re: Hamptons coastal front elevation 4Apr 23, 2018 1:58 pm Hillsbuilds I think the round vents are a good nod to hamptons. We have left the windows plain as they will have plantation shutters installed so we didn't want them to look too busy. We did originally have the garage door you mention but it had to come off to make room for some essential items at pre-start. The colours are hopefully right as we have two different tones for weatherboard and render - both a kind of grey colour. But you make a good point with the finials. I'll see if they can price up the round vents. Get some long brass machine screws and bolt right through the gate and put brass acorn nuts and washers on the other side. It will never come off 1 9075 that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 7395 |
