Deck replacement

A piece of timber has broken whilst some1 was walking across the deck now the real estate wants me to pay for this and that when i feel like the deck is at the end of its life because the wood was quite soft when u walk across it. Whats the usual reason for replacing a support beam on a deck? Because they want us to pay for this plus the piece if timbet that broke

Just be careful with building stability during construction, that is when the structure may be weakened, refer to your engineering drawings for stability methodology.
