Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 29, 2008 11:25 am We have recently purchased a new two storey home that has normal baton light fittings. which we would like to replace with down lights. however there seems to be a lot of discussion about whether it can or cant be done downstairs. there is no manhole cover for entry to the lower ceiling, but there are air con ducts installed there with ducting. surely there would have to be access to that ceiling should something need to be done in there. does anyboby know if we can have our downlights installed downstairs? the house is a wooden frame with no cement slab in between. its a clarendon home. thanks Re: Downlights or not? 3Sep 16, 2008 2:34 pm Of course you can, but the process might be quite messy.

Cutting holes is easy, the fun part is connecting these holes to where you want the light switch to be located.
