Note sure if this is the correct place to post this, but here goes....
I am planning to do a knockdown rebuild. My existing block has a large (9m * 4m) swimming pool, that I will be filling in. About 1-2m of the rear of the new house will go over where the pool was.
I have yet to receive my final footing design (assume there will be screw piles used), but the builder I am looking to use has told me that the whole pool needs to be filled with stabilised sand (6-10% cement) .
This is contrast to what I have been told by others - ie seeing as the house will be built on piles the pool can just be filled in as normal
I would appreciate any opinions on this?
I also want have lawn at the back, but am concerned that there will be no drainage through the stabilised sand. Would this be a problem?
Thanks
