Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Questionable shower drain 2Oct 08, 2017 10:02 am brickcleaner Hi, As part of our renovation we had a new upstairs bathroom and and en suite built. After an independent inspection, both floors were flagged as being non-compliant in that they did not have the required fall to the drain. The 'master builder' then allegedly had the floors rectified claiming that he had removed existing tiles, re-waterproofed, re-screeded and re-tiled/grouted the areas to make them comply. Problem is, this is how the drain has now been left. I'm not sure if this is screed or tile adhesive, either way it wasn't like this beforehand and even to a lay person does not appear to what is considered 'standard'. I'd appreciate some feedback from plumbers and tilers (and anyone else) as to what they think has gone wrong. cheers Brett Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ 1 comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You have a 100mm floor waste for a 50mm pipe. The Tiler puts extra glue to ensure the waste won't move when stood on.. Just needs to be tidied up.. won't affect anything, just a visual/aesthetic problem.. Yeah mine about 9 metres long and 8 wide with slope of 25% at one point but the end point of the outlet is past the side of garage and if he concretes allowing for… 4 4516 Agreed. I just found out today the certifier has not given the final sign off. 2 4072 Grab a hose, insert it at the top of the inlet/down pipe and turn the water on and see where the water is escaping from. Then you'll know. 3 8390 |
