Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Oct 04, 2017 8:46 pm I have been quoted for approx 50m of guttering and fascia covering, plus new down-pipes 1] However after thinking it through I notice that the fascia's covers at the bottom are 34 to 38mm wide and my existing fascia wood boards are only 22mm wide – this would mean that on installation there would be a gap of about 12 to 16mm between the fascia wood board and the metal colorbond sheet at the bottom turn of the fascia (it turns up about 22 to 23mm on the inside edge of the fascia cover). The flat eaves are about 26 to 27mm in height from the bottom of the wood fascia to the the top of the flat horizontal eaves. This would mean another gap of about 4-5mm from the eaves and the inside turn section of the fascia – so an ugly hangover of approx 12-16mm with an open gap of approx 5mm on the bottom inside edge between the wood fascia and the colorbond fascia cover. Not only ugly but a great place for spiders to inhabit My question is – are there any fascia covers that would suit my 1981 built house and sit flush at the bottom inside edge with my more narrow wood fascia's? (apparently newer built houses have wooden fascia's around 33mm wide (not 22mm like mine) See upload schematic of what I mean: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: need fascia covers to suit older style smaller fascia bo 2Oct 06, 2017 8:34 am Contact a sheet metal fabricator, give them the size that you require and they will fold it up for you in the colour of your choice. Don't make the upturn too tight. If fascias are 22 thick specify you want this 23 or 24 to allow for paint drips etc. Re: need fascia covers to suit older style smaller fascia bo 3Oct 09, 2017 11:23 pm What about folded flashing to cover the gap ? Would flashing all the way along (on the inside turn) if riveted to the flashing and screwed into the eaves cause too much metal to metal rattle in stiff breezes? Would it be efficient and cost effective if done at the same time as the metal fascia? 4 6010 I had an old shower unit that broke on me and when I took it off, there were only 2 water pipes, instead of the normal 2 water pipes and a shower head pipe.
