We are thinking about upgrading to the Timber Coat Merbau to match our front door and woodwork. Can anyone help with the approximate upgrade price before we talk to our builder Thanks Colin Re: B&D Panelift - Upgrade to Timber Coat 2Aug 29, 2017 9:24 pm Colin1 3-5 times the cost of Colorbond the last time I looked They are also very heavy so it may require special brackets & supports? Not timber look vinyl glued on pressed metal In aggressive coastal environments vinyl will last longer than std colorbond through the edges on vinyl clad doors need extra protective treatment Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: B&D Panelift - Upgrade to Timber Coat 7Sep 01, 2017 11:11 am "Timbercoat Merbau" which was what the OP mentioned is a B&D product and it's resin coated steel. No timber involved. http://www.bnd.com.au/colour-design-adv ... coat-range Re: B&D Panelift - Upgrade to Timber Coat 8Sep 01, 2017 11:28 am Ahh...You are correct it's not real timber but vinyl wrap? my bad I was referring to real timber doors..which were popular here a number of years ago. Make sure it does match though. I've seen houses where they went for different colours and it looks terrible for a new house. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15924 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6164 |
