First home owner and first time builder here. Hoping to connect with other single storey Fowler Homes owners (seems to be a lack of us!) or people currently within Tranche 31 Stage 2 (registration in OCT/NOV 2017) at Oran Park; Lots 1130 - 1295. We might find our neighbours on this thread!
Building the Catalina 23 with the Allegra facade; Deluxe Package. I'll try and update costs of things in the post below.

05 June 17 - Tender Presentation
22 June 17 - Plan and Tender Variation signed
03 August 17 - 1st Draft received
03 September 17 - TV 3 signed
19 September 17 - TV 4 signed
26 September 17 - Council Forms signed
28 September 17 - 2nd Amended Draft received and signed
19 October 17 - Land is registered
02 November 17 - Land settled
22 November 17 - Developer Approval for Oran Park Rebate accepted
27 November 17 - TV 5 & 6 signed
27 November 17 - Colours Appointment / Ultra Air (air con) / Appointment TV 7 signed
04 December 17 - Brindabella Kitchen Appointment / Abruzzo Tiling Appointment

I'm finding that! Our drafts alone took 5 weeks. I've had to chase up council documentations.
I emailed them about trying to get into the colours room early so we can be prepared when our official consultation comes along, and they said there was no advantage in accessing the room right now. I think thats utter rubbish! You can't be too prepared.

I tried to do the same but no luck... I did end up selecting everything pretty early though so im really frustrated about the fact that it's looking like i'll have to pay $1,000 to extend my tender because they've been so slow post council :/
There hasnt been that many reviews online for FH which i took as a good thing as people usually are more vocal online when things dont go right...most of the reviews i have come across mostly complain about how slow they are.....which in hindsight can be as equally frustrating..
Fingers crossed its smooth sailing from here though because i really do love their floor plans and packages!

I hope thats not a common occurrence. We are building a single storey so maybe things will move a little faster?
Yes, we haven't needed to make too many structural amends because they have have amazing floor plans

I'll definitely let you know how it all goes! and keep me up to date with yours too! there's so few of us FH builders online, it's nice to connect!
I'm still negotiating some changes on our building contract but hopefully once they agree to some of them - we will be in production and ready for slab in the next month!

Can I also add, that I love your choice for the Portofino! Such a modern looking home! Fowler 2-storeys are amazing!

Thanks lovely! I kind of feel like im in over my head now - i built a single storey home the first time around and am really scared about doing a double storey hahah..
Let me know if you have any questions with any of the processes moving forward.
Just a tip - totally worth running your build contract with a solicitor - just so you're across EVERYTHING that's written on it.

Aw, i'm so excited for you! At least you have some sort of idea of whats going on!
People ask if were excited about building, but its such a scary and nerve-wracking time of the process! haha.
Thank you we shall! Really appreciate your kindness!~ I feel like theres been a huge lack of communication with Fowler. Even with our original sales manager resigning and all that.

Yes - i agree - i'm still pretty scared...we built with Eden Brae previously but we were still so young so kind of fluked everything! We didnt have a solicitor the first time around and luckily everything went pretty smoothly but i would definitely recommend it.
Are you building in Sydney?
If you're up our way i can recommend our Solicitor if you dont have one already - she was super thorough with us
But yes - dont be afraid to reach out.

Its a beautiful estate! I've got 2 girlfriends who have built there too!

Our friends who have built and some in the middle of building are with Eden Brae, and have only good things to say about them.
Aw thanks! Were 10mins out from my parents, and down the road from friends, so it's good to be close to people we know.
Thank you for the recommendation! My partner's uncle is actually our solicitor, so were very thankful for all his help. He helped us flip our floor plan, which Fowler initially rejected, due to the site plan (makes no sense) as the drafts hadn't even been drawn up yet.
I'll try to keep this post updated as we go, theres a lack of Fowler single-story home posts in the forum.

Aaah lucky!! Having a relative as your solicitor will definitely work in your favour!!
So strange they werent going to let you flip the plan as they are usually so flexible with that kind of thing!

Exactly! Especially since they let you flip floor plans online. The manager we dealt with is no longer with them, so things have been smooth so far! (*knock on wood*)

We are also building with Fowler so thought I would join in on your discussion We are almost ready to start building, just waiting on our bank to send through our Construction Certificate then we are good to go!
We are building the Galleria 22 (single storey) in Jordan Springs. I'll try go back through emails to see if I can answer any of your initial questions above. It has taken about 6 months for our pre-construction part, and kind of expecting it to be about a 6 month build (plus an extra month that builders take off over the christmas/new years period)

I haven't actually, most of Jordan Springs is complete, I think we are the last to build on our street.
Hopefully you guys can start soon, have many started building around you?
