Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 23, 2008 6:09 pm There're some quite wide windows/patio doors in my project, tall too. So tall in fact that there's not enough room left for the wide enough LVL lintels to span them. I've heard of the slim metal lintels that can be used with the timber frame to increase the span size. Anyone knows anything about them ??

The draw back with Z beams is that they need to be used in a brick veneer situation as the stiffener protrudes from the wall frame. Found the Z beam tables, etc, and also another product called Light Steel Beams, on the net, but it's all a tad over my head.
