Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 15, 2017 10:27 pm So after discussing with my husband that we were absolutely not going to sign any contracts regarding crimsafe we had a sales person over on Friday and signed a contract for our new home for crimsafe!!!. I wish we hadn't signed. I am happy to have crimsafe but am not sure if we were ripped off. I am not fussed in pros or cons of crimsafe etcetc I'm just trying to figure out if we were ripped off. We are building a home with 27 windows and 9 doors of which two are over sized (2.7m tall) entry doors, four extra large stacker sliding doors and and a few regular doors. We were initially quoted 30k but agreed on 23k. I know this is a huge amount of money. All our windows are very large also. I really wanted crimsafe so I can leave my windows open all day/night. I know if someone wants to break in they will just smash a window. My main concern is protecting my baby and being able to leave things open. So in saying that.. does this sound like a reasonable price? We paid 7k for 17 windows about 6 years ago but never had sliding doors done. I don't think I can get out of the contract now anyway I would just like to know if I've been ripped off. Thanks Re: Crimsafe quote 2Jul 16, 2017 9:52 pm Sounds about right to me. We were quoted $2800 for one standard sized glass sliding door and a 2340 high triple stacker door, so roughly $1000 per door panel. Our builder quoted $4k for the same thing.
