They are horrible. They are noisy (they pop and ping when going hot to cold and vice versa), they are cold and draughty (you can't insulate them as well because the top plates and studs all have holes through them, also the batts can't get into the channels of the steel), if you get mice or rats in your roof then they use the C channels in the steel like highways, they are terrible to do any work in the roof space, hanging pictures or anything on walls becomes tedious because you need steel screws to go into studs, makes it very difficult to renovate in the future, in 5 years in our first house we got excessive plaster cracking in our room corners and above doors.
