Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 10, 2017 5:01 pm Hello Everyone! I am very new to this, but desperately need some paint advice, (have been avoiding spending $$$ on colour consultants hehe, but thinking about this for weeks) So my partner and i are have owner built, and are almost up to the point of moving in!!! We're currently getting the house tiled at the moment (so far, he has only finished the wet areas).... i chose large 600 x 600 porcelain tiles for all the main areas... When choosing months ago, i was bamboozled with choice and rushed it - choosing (what i thought was fairly white) floor tile. On arrival of the tiles to the house, they seem more warmer, off white, slightly creamy in colour.. but change in the different lighting. We have asked to return/ choose obvious white one, but no can do!.... SO my dilemma is, because the tiles have a slightly warmer look to them - what colour should i paint the walls to make the white in them stand out more? It's hard to imagine atm because they have not been laid, and no lighting has been installed yet. (The house gets moderate sunlight in most rooms). i LOVE lexicon half, and quarter strength, but am unsure if they will be too "cool" and therefore make the tile colour even more warmer! ........On the other hand, i am very against warmer whites and think they will look a bit dated in such a modern home. ... .......OR on the other hand, have i just looked at these tiles so much i have gone crazy/ imagining things....Any advice would be appreciated!!! Thank you!! Paint Decisions! 2Jul 15, 2017 10:41 pm We have similar colour floor tiles (I think). We are going with white exchange half and having white white skirting architrave etc so it makes a contrast. One tip I like to use to save on colour consult is look at display homes from big builders and if u like a colour scheme ask them what they painted it and copy it exactly (that's what I have done). At least u know it looks good already and most builders will tell u the exact colours they used! Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7170 Thank you.
