Make sure that you follow up every conversation with an email so that they know you are not mucking around. Thats what i did. Don't sign anything that you are not comfortable with. They will always try and blacme the customer for delays...they all do! Nothing is ever their fault. I'd elevate the situation if you could, speak to the managers instead of the staff - do whatever it takes to get it right. You are paying good money, hard earned money for your home and it is very very important to you that they get it right. You dont want to sign and then regret anything, stay on them...you're doing the right thing.... Re: M3tricon: Trying to take my own advice.... 22Aug 25, 2008 1:37 pm If you are not happy walk away!
Building is too large an investment to proceed if you have a gut feeling things are not right. It is not worth it. A very successful friend once told me that if a decision is causing sleepless nights or large amounts of concern then there is a need to go back and re-evaluate until those symptoms are resolved. If not then it is time to walk away and seek alternate paths. My wife and I had been going through the process with a large volume builder (surname of a current aussie cricket player) for over 12 months. We dearly loved the home design with modifications to our wishes and the price was great, but the contract issues and delay after delay started us worrying. Eventually we took that friends advice and walked away. It was a very tough decision to make. We honestly felt we would never get another design that good. My wife shed many a tear! It turns out we found another builder who worked with me on a complete custom design that was larger, had more extra's and simply a lot more wow factor. Those tears are gone now and replaced by tingles every time we think about building the new plan and moving in! It is just so much better and so much more us. Making the hard decision for us turned out to be the best thing we could have done. We love our new plan, we adore our builder and we have made a really great friend out of what is now a really enjoyable experience. In a nutshell 'DO NOT BE AFRAID TO WALK AWAY. There is always something else out there. Don't allow some one else to bully you into their agenda. Remember building your home is about you... It's yours to experience so why not make it the best it can be for YOU! Finally Designing and building the home I always wanted to! Something needs to be done about these tricksters using their smoke and mirrors to distract innocent members of the public. We deserve more respect and more regulation from the government. This is after all what drives Australias economy. How come they get away with treating the customer with unapologetic disdain and then to top it all off, reward themselves so lavishly for it. It makes me sick Re: M3tricon: Trying to take my own advice.... 24Sep 16, 2008 11:18 pm Actually to update this whole situation, it did get resolved to our satisfaction which was good.
But thanks for bumping this thread..... shows I don't work for them! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Yep, very good point. I’ll do more research and see what figures I get. Thank you! 8 2462 I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 5168 |
