It would be much appreciated I got option 3 last year but for $5k but 16 panels. I can't really speak for the other 2, but am happy with mine, especially the pre and post customer service with both origin and the installer. Fronius have an app too where you can check the stats, but the only reason I got what I did was because origin were running a promotion at the time, and I didn't do much research Coral Homes Avoca 25 in Gainsborough Greens Gold Coast Viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81406 Re: Solar Quotes.. Help! 6May 25, 2017 11:57 am I agree, definitely do your research. We have Fronius inverter and Chinese tier 1 panels from a local WA company. 6kw system cost us $5k! If you have a local area facebook page I would also look for recommendations of suppliers too, and agree with checking out the whirlpool forums. Re: Solar Quotes.. Help! 7May 25, 2017 12:10 pm Hi Ryalls, Main thing to consider is the planned usage of the panels during the central day light hours, as unless you have battery storage, they will not get anywhere near 5kw as the afternoon progresses. Then there is things to consider like shade from trees, as if half of 1 panel gets shaded, when running a String Inverter (most of them, unless each panel has a DC Optimiser, or each panel has its own attached Inverter), then the capacity of ALL panels will drop to 50%. I've found http://www.solarquotes.com.au to have a wealth of info, written by an engineer (No affiliation :p ). As mentioned, research is always your friend, especially when building a house =) Re: Solar Quotes.. Help! 8May 25, 2017 12:31 pm Ryalls_first_build Thats good to know, Thanks Von! There is a wealth of information in there that has already been discussed by the experts. Agree, that's the place to ask. One thing they'll tell you over there is to do just as much research about the installer as you do about the PV equipment. You obviously want quality workmanship & if you do have problems you don't want to find out your installer isn't around as they've gone out of business. I looked into it a few years ago and my conclusion was to just build a carport that will support panels and get a system installed separately.
