Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 24, 2017 7:03 pm G'day there my mothers house is in need of a paint job internally and externally and we have a colour issue. The previous owner chose a complimentary colour scheme with red being the main colour and green being the complimentary. The walls are a creamy white and the wood work is a beige colour with yellow through it. The yellow shouldn't be there so we decided to attempt to paint the walls white with a brown undertone and the woodwork white with a slightly darker brown undertone. Brown being neutral will help as it gets rid of the yellow. The carpet is a peachy light pink (red group) and bits and pieces around the house are green (bathroom tiles, curtains). The issue we have is the window frames are aluminium and factory painted a creamy yellow. Will the house look silly with predominately red and splashes of green with neutral white walls and woodwork then this yellow creamy window frames throughout the house? What to do? How can we make this colour scheme work? Any help would be appreciated cheers Sash I'm renovating - building a small extension at the back of the late Edwardian house. This is the first stage.
